The project “Bliżej natury – identyfikacja i merytoryczne przygotowanie lokalnych animatorów przyrodniczych” (Closer to nature – identification and training of local nature educators), carried out by OTOP between 2010-2012, was addressed at those who inhabited Natura 2000 areas or their immediate surroundings. It was supposed to raise awareness about the natural diversity of these areas and involve the public in actions for nature conservation. The nature educators took part in free training on communication, nature conservation and fundraising, and – equipped with the necessary theory fundamentals and materials – organised education and information campaigns in Natura 2000 areas of their region.
