How to visit us? - OTOP

The Karsiborska Kępa Reserve is located in the north-western part of Poland, about 8 km from the centre of Świnoujście. It is situated in the delta of the Świna river, on the Karsiborska Kępa island. The closest inhabited island is the Karsibór, which provides access to the reserve as well as accommodation and shops for visitors.

How to get to the Reserve:

  • By municipal bus no. 5, which starts at the train station in Świnoujście. Get off the bus at the last but one stop and follow the bus route to reach a large cross by the road and then turn left. The side road with a small bridge is the entry to the Karsiborska Kępa.
  • By car or bike. Go to the Karsibór ferry crossing (by the Wolin island) turn south just before the crossing, after the sign for Karsibór, and then continue driving the asphalt road until the cross.  You can also follow the signs for “Ostoja Ptaków” (Bird Site).

Please park your car at a car park site just behind the entry to the island. Buses should be parked in front of the entry.

The natural values of the Karsiborska Kępa can be explored on your own or with a guide. Those who prefer to walk on their own can use the marked trails and the viewing tower. It is highly recommended that you have a look at the map of the area and read important visitor rules, which are found in the tower.

If you wish to better explore the natural world of the Karsiborska Kępa on a guided tour, please contact the Reserve’s manager to arrange a trip. There is a fee for the trip but in return you can use binoculars and a scope, you get souvenir entry tickets and can access a hide for bird watching and photographing.
